However if you’d prefer not to go through these options one of our team can go through it with you. Just fill in the Contact Form and we’ll do the rest.

Step 1: Choose Your System

  1. Drop

A simple curtain system. Opens from the top, the curtain gathers along the bottom when fully open.
Pros: Low cost, quick and simple.
Cons: Max height 3m. Cannot be automated.

    VVS Drop System

    • Single system up to 140m in length
    • Curtain height up to 3m
    • Top opening ventilation system
    • Simple entry level system
    • Low cost & fast to install
    • Manual / electric options

  2. Fold

A simple folding curtain system. Opens from the top. When fully open the curtain folds into three sections.
Pros: Low cost economy system. Can be automated.
    Cons: Max height 3m.

    • Single system up to 140m in length
    • Curtain height up to 3m
    • Top opening ventilation system
    • Simple system fast to install
    • Neatly folds in front of an existing wall
    • Manual / Electric / Fully automated options

  3. Rolling

A rolling curtain system. Opens from the top and rolls onto a bottom or middle rolling tube.
Pros: Ideal for larger systems, can be fully automated and maintains full ventilation height.
More robust in bad weather than Fold or Drop systems.

Cons: More expensive but more versatile and durable.

    • Single system up to 140m in length
    • Curtain height up to 4.8m
    • Top opening
    • Total ventilation control
    • Patented system, with registered design components
    • Maximum weather protection
    • Maintains a healthy environment for stock

  4. Shade

A rolling curtain system that can open from the top for ventilation, or from the bottom creating a sun shade.
Pros: Same as Rolling but also can be used for shade combined with ventilation.

    • Single system up to 100m in length
    • Curtain height up to 5m
    • Total ventilation control plus shade
    • Benefits similar to Rolling system
    • Curtain can be positioned to maximise shade

Step 2: Choose Your Drive & Control

  1. Hand Driven Crank Handle

Suitable for all systems operated from ground level.

  2. Hand Driven Chain Drive

Suitable where the system is in an elevated position but is operated at ground level.

  3. Electric Drive

    Suitable for all systems.

  4. Automated

Galebreaker’s VentLogic® controllers can run up to four separate curtains per controller.

  1. Cable Drive

    Cable Drive
Suitable for systems up to 3m high. High tensile cable or wire rope are available.
Pros: Lower purchase price than Torque Drive.
Cons: Not suitable for openings taller than 3m. Requires more regular services for automatic systems.

Step 5: Choose Your End Covers and Material

End covers protect the mechanisms at the two ends of the system. Two options are available; Galvanised or Fabric.

  1. Galvanised End Covers

    Galvanised End Cover
Pros: Fast to install and lower cost than fabric
Cons: Additional materials are required to fill in gaps
